Joy Elizabeth DeBellis

Assistant Clinical Professor
Dr. Joy DeBellis is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Auburn University College of Nursing, where she has taught in the graduate nurse practitioner program since 2020. A certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of clinical experience, she has practiced in family medicine, cardiology, and veterans’ health, and currently provides outpatient care at Varicosity Vein Center. She holds certifications from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. DeBellis’s academic and research interests include lifestyle medicine, sleep health, nutrition education, and graduate nursing education. She is a co-developer of Auburn’s interdisciplinary culinary medicine elective and contributes scholarly work across holistic wellness, nutrition, and advanced nursing education. She currently serves as Chair of both the Graduate Evaluation Committee and the Wellness Committee at AUCON, and is an active member of multiple university-wide and college-level committees, including the AU Health and Wellness Committee and the RISE Committee. Dr. DeBellis is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), the National Academies of Practice, and the Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Alabama.
