Rachel Cody

Assistant Clinical Professor/DNP Program Coordinator
Dr. Rachel Cody joined the faculty at the Auburn University College of Nursing as an Assistant Clinical Professor in June 2022 and currently serves as the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Coordinator, a role she assumed in August 2025. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University in 2009 and began her career as a staff nurse before advancing into leadership roles in emergency and trauma care. She also spent three years as a critical care transport and flight nurse. In 2014, Dr. Cody completed her Master of Science in Nursing with an Emergency Nurse Practitioner focus at Vanderbilt University and has since practiced as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner in the metro Atlanta area. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Auburn University in 2021. Dr. Cody is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and serves as Membership Committee Chair for the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (AAENP). Throughout her career, she has served as a clinical preceptor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is passionate about providing nurses with a strong educational foundation through classroom and clinical teaching. Her teaching focus includes senior-level undergraduate critical care, graduate-level courses, and interprofessional education. She has also coordinated interprofessional learning experiences for AUCON. In addition, she serves as clinical faculty for ThriveAP's Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Transition to Practice programs.
